Kerala State Small Industries Association, District Unit, Kottayam was formed in the Year 1961, by Industrialists in various categories of Tiny and Small Scale Sectors. The Office of this Association was housed in the Municipal Bus Stand Building, Thirunakkara, Kottayam. In 2008, the Office was shifted to the new building constructed in the own plot in the Municipal Industrial Estate, Kodimatha, Kottayam, 1.5 kilometers away from Central Junction, Kottayam.

This association conducts INDEX, an All India Industrial Exhibition every year in the Muncipal Ground or Mammen Mappalai Hall at Kottayam. Besides the Exhibition, KSSIA Kottayam also conducts Seminars, Training Programmes and classes for awareness on various subjects useful for Industries and Self-employment.

The new building which was constructed with Bank finance and own sources, has adequate infrastructure to facilitate various activities of KSSIA Kottayam.

• To conduct Seminars and Conferences
• To conduct Training Programmes like PMRY, EDP and other programmes in connection with Micro & Small Scale Industry
